Can I mix creatine with bottled water and leave overnight?

Now that I have begun to take creatine (some of you many remember my last post questioning the safety of it), I want to make bottled creatine ready water bottles. I just mixed the recommended 1 1/2 teaspoon in some aquafina bottled water and first of all it started fizzing a bit!! WTF? But, my question is that can I leave it mixed with water overnight and take it in class in bottled water because I heard something about it being reduced by liquids or something?

Why don't you just mix it before you leave in the morning? I'm sure pouring a table spoon of powder into a bottle isn't too time consuming.

Ya tru, but I already did it.......plus it would still sit in the bottle for like 4 hours anyway cause I will take 1 dose in the morning before I leave(I am on loading period with 4 doses per day for 5 days.......

AFAIK it doesnt go bad, especially with water, just shake it up. Post results after using that stuff, i tried it for a while to no avail...:(

Overnight in water wont cause much breakdown of creatine, if any. You can do it without worry, but try not to go passed 12 hours in water.

from what i remember reading, it will break down overtime. this is why creatine in liquid form doesn't work as well as powder creatine.

i was under the impression that you're not supposed to do that because the creatine breaks down. thats why the creatine serum took a while to be made?

I've read that it turns into creatinine after a few hours in liquid form. Maybe someone else knows.

Edit: I read your post again and I noticed your loading your creatine. You don't really need to do this. Your body probably absorbs at most 5 grams and the rest your pissing away. After a week or so your creatine reserves are going to max out anyway even if you stick with 5 or 10 grams daily. I'm pretty sure this loading period is marketing hype. Also I would take the creatine post workout to help with the absorbtion process. This is from stuff I've read so I could be wrong.

It does convert to creatinine; how fast depends on the temperature and acidity of what it's dissolved in. Even if some of it has broken down, it won't hurt you or make you sick.

The main drawback to "creatine serum" is that, when anyone's tested any of the commercial products, they contain practically no creatine. I guess if it doesn't contain creatine you don't have to worry about it breaking down.
