I am having trouble with my wireless access point. I had forgotten the key for the WAP encryption I setup and my laptop had to have it's wireless drivers re-installed which erased the saved key I had been using all this time. So I decided to reset the access point back to factory default and configure it again.

But after resetting the AP and running the setup program on the CD which came with it it is saying it cannot find the access point! It is plugged into my LAN like it always has been, and all 3 lights on the AP are solid.

Is there a way to just manually configure this thing? I cant figure out what it's default IP address is... I used an IP scanner and scanned everything from 192.168.1.0 to 192.168.1.255 and its not there. I also triedthe 192.168.0 addresses. Where is this thing hiding?

Two things I can think of.

First on the AP, you'll need to set the Channel # and Encryption key (if you're using it).

Next, you probably need to set your Wireless card to the same Channel and Key.

I'm sure the Linksys docs will tell you the default IP address - honestly, I'd start there first...

It is not clear to me  are you connected directly by Ethernet cable to the router when you are attempting set up? If not that is what I would try 1st.
