Can I make my network Wireless

Hi,
I have a FR314 Netgear router attached to a cable modem. This is not a wireless router. Is it possible to attach a wireless router or wireless something to this router?

I want to add a computer that can connect to the network i have already, but I want this without any wires. Because this computer will be added in another room. And i don't want cables running to different rooms.

Is there a solution for this??!!

please help!

Buy an Access Point and attach it to an open port on your routers integrated switch with a Cat5 Patch cable. Buy a client card for the PC you want to access your network wirelessly. You can probably find both for around 100 bucks if you look for rebated hardware.

Another thing,
If the computer I want to add is in the basement and my network on the ground floor. Is the wireless going to be fast enough? or not? I heard wireless isn't as good as a wired network?

Please advice

Thank u in advance
Rachi

Wireless will certainly be fast enough for internet sharing. If you want to move gigabytes of files between machines, you may find it painfully slow, but most people don't do that. There is always the question of how good your reception will be -- until you try it, it is hard to say. Make sure equipment is returnable.
