hey guys.... my collection has begun to take up a lot of physical space so i've been wondering that if i make image of the retail discs that i've to store in my ext. HDD then would it, in any way, affect the no. of installations, solidshield, etc. the DRM solutions that the publishers use on that retail copy of mine?

no he can't, or no it won't affect his ability to use them?

I've made images of discs I owned using things like DeamonTools either to save space or for quicker access (back when most stuff needed you to have the disc in the drive). It probably won't work for everything but it's doable for at least some of his stuff most likely.

There are cracks for that type of DRM but be careful as most are infested with malware.

You can and are legally allowed to make any backups of software you own. Not that that means much as you will never be prosecuted for it.

I depends on the game. I do it with some games, but most of the newer ones won't allow it. CoD4 is the latest one I have that I can do this with.
