Can I make a GTX 970 ignore a faulty memory bank?

Hello! I've been troubleshooting my GTX 970 and after running mats one memory chip has 16 faulty bits. I know the real way to repair it is to replace said memory chip but can I make the GPU ignore that memory chip or even bank in order to make the card functional? I'd love a quick and dirty fix like this until I get my hands on a hot air station to repair it.
