Can I load SATA drivers without loading NForce IDE drivers?

I have an EPoX 9NDA3+ nForce3 Ultra with a single SATA hdd and two IDE DVD+Rs. I seem to have problems with AnyDVD hanging up my drives whenever I try and use it with nForce IDE drivers.

So I rebuilt the system with XP SP2 and instead of using the CD from Epox (which is all or nothing) I installed the nForce unified driver leaving off the IDE part. Now my IDE channels are using the XP MS default driver.

Although XP doens't seem to have a problem with this I don't know if it has some other ill effect on speed since my device manager list all as IDE channels (including the SATA channels).

So bascically I wanted to know if there is a way to setup only the SATA channels with the nForce driver so they are shown correctly in the device manager or if not will using the default driers effect performance?

Thanks

you could try from device manager to install a driver by telling it to look for drivers from the CD,but i believe you will have to install the IDE drivers from the cd anyway.

or you could list what problem you are having and see if someone can help
