Can I load MS Office on my desktop and laptop?

I just ordered MS Office Professional 2007 and OneNote '07 using my academic discount (Woo HOO). I'm just wondering, prior to this, I've been running Office 2003 with a volume license key.

This has always confused me...

Can I load it on my desktop and laptop??

Or do I need to buy two copies??

I imagine software piracy protocols are getting tougher with every new version and I haven't had problems in the past doing this.

Thanks so much for your help!!!

Tangentially, as you may already know, there's a handy save as PDF add-on for Office 2007, which can be nice if you want to output PDF files.

Yes - I have Office 2007 Pro on my desktop and my laptop (same key ID.) That has always stood the test of time based on the presumption that you only use one machine at a time. I also have Mechbegon's suggested plug-in for creating PDF files in Word, etc. (WordPerfect has had that built-in for many years.)

THANKS so much for the quick responses, I really appreciate it!!! I understand their concerns to cutdown piracy and was just afraid I was going to have to buy two copies of everything.

Does the same go for Vista Ultimate? I'm not going to put it on my current laptop because it's not powerful enough, but was just curious...

Thanks too for the .pdf link! I have always used PDF995, but a solution from MS seems like the better way.

Regards,
Pete

You can use Office on your desktop + laptop because the license agreement for Office specifically says you can (makes sense), but Vista and other versions of Windows are the traditional one-license-per-machine deal.

Like mech said, it's perfectly fine to use them both at the same time. The Office license permits this. However, there are a couple limitations. The first machine can be either a desktop or laptop, but the second device must be a laptop. Also, the second instance on the laptop can only be used by the primary user of the first device.

Thanks for the clarifications gentlemen. I guess that makes sense about the operating system and I have no worries since when I eventually do upgrade my laptop, it will already have Vista on it.

Thanks Again!
Pete
