Can I leave my cell phone in my car all winter?

Where I live it often gets down to below zero. I have a Nokia 2285, a very common model, if that makes any difference.
Since I only keep the phone for emergencies while on the road, it is very convenient to leave it in the car, and even charge it in the car.
I leave the phone turned off when I am not in the car.
So, is it bad for the phone?

I've left my phone in my car in very cold temps with no issues. The display would get SUPER slow and not display correctly but would work otherwise.

I usually leave mine in the car during work in the winter months (~8 hours) and never have had a problem

The display lags because the LCD gets cold, but thats it. I keep my cell in my car year round.
