Oh I just had to reinstall Windows.. the joy.. I had a lapse in concentration and made the mistake of installing GimpShop from GIMPSHOP.COM WHICH IS A SCAM.. they use a modified/forked version of GimpShop which is laden with MALWARE!!
I think you should stick to reputable sites to download files like CNET.. the program can be good but the it's the WEBSITE which modifies the file/program and adds VIRUS/MALWARE to it.. anyway a lesson has been learned!!
