Is it legal to shoot a redheaded woodpecker?
Damn thing sits in my tree and makes more noise than the dogs, cows and horses put together...
Should I put a slug though it? or do I get out the co2 gun?
I think the damn thing is trying to punch a hole in the light pole.

IIRC they are an endangered species!

Don't. :(

Woodpeckers as a whole aren't doing very well... we use up their habitat, and then kill them when they peck on our houses.. It's sad..

Thought he claimed to have more than one. If he doesn't have any left, I suppose you could just send him the woodpecker :)

This is true and it is also true that I have had several drive me insane when the peck on the gutters! I didn't kill them though!

Screaming bottle rockets such as the "Screaming Terror-dactyl" send most birds on their way. After a few of those shot into the tree over a few days they move to quieter area's.

We find them effective in getting the neighbors freaking geese out of the bean fields before they eat all the seed.

We used 12ga "bird bombs" for a long time but the bottle rockets are cheaper.

One time on an outdoor excursion a few years ago me and a buddy were driving around in some back country roads looking for an abandon monastery. Up all night long and had been drinking all night. Sun comes up and we find a shady spot to take a nap for a couple of hours. Woody is up and making a racket. My buddy shoots off a round from his 9 mil to scare Woody. Woody shuts up for a minute then starts pecking away again.
