Can I Install Windows 98 With Windows 2000

I currently have Windows 2000 installed, and would like to have a dual boot of Win2k and Windows 98.

Can i make a dual boot with Win2k already installed, or do i have to install windows 98 first then Windows 2000.

The best way to do it is to install each OS in it's own primary partition.
You will need a good third party partitioning program like Partition Magic to do so, as FDISK will only allow you to create one primary partition.
Since you already have Win2000 installed, all you need to do is create another primary partition to install Win98 on. After you have that done, you will need to set that partition as the active partition. Install windows 98 as usuall.
Now, to switch between the 2 primary partitions you will need to install a boot manager program.

no, not true. You do NOT need two primary partitions. Only one Primary is needed. Win9x must go on the primary c:\ but W2k and NT4 can go on any other partition.

Nor would this require any third pary software for anything.

You could set it up the way Zed suggests, but that's only one option and is not the only way to do it.

Couple 'o quick questions. Where did I say that 2 primary partitions are necessary to install Win2K and Win98? I merely suggested that that was a way it could be done. Which leads me to my next question. Where did I say that what I suggested was the only way to do it?
