Here's the situation... I bought Windows XP-Home for use on my home PC right when it came out. I've been running it quite happily for the last few months.

I recently purchased a XP-Pro CD for use on another system that is going to my in-laws. The only reason I got XP-Pro for them is because it happened to be cheaper in the specific situation I was in.

ANYWAY, I would love to have terminal services on my XP-Home PC, and I know it will never be used by my inlaws. BUT, I don't want to do a complete reinstall of XP-Home on my PC, because of the activation restrictions of XP.

Is there any way that I can install just the terminal services from the XP-Pro CD on my XP-Home box ?

Thanks for the help !

The only way I know for you to get Remote Access is to do an upgrade install with WinXP Pro on top of the current Xp Home Edition. That should preserve your configuration, but it will mean you need to buy another WinXP Pro Upgrade kit.

If you can find Terminal Services Client installation from a Windows 2000 Advanced Server installation, that would work also. I copied the installation to a floppy disk from work, and installed it on my XP Pro computer, because I didn't know it was the same thing as Remote Desktop Connection. After installation, and running the program, I found out it WAS the same. You might want to try that. Hope this helps.
