Can I Install Linux over PCMCIA network?

Hi Y'all,

I'm trying to install Redhat 7 on my dad's old Omnibook. It has ~1.2GB HD. I have downloaded the RPMS and base files on my desktop computer. I would like to install RH from my desktop onto my laptop using ftp or something similar. IS THIS POSSIBLE? I would like to keep all the files on my desktop, since it has much more free space. My systems are:
Laptop
Omnibook 800ct 3com PCMCIA card (3c589c) 1.2gb free
Desktop
Win2kPro/Win98 misc networking software
I don't have the CD drive for the laptop, so I'll need to do something over the PCMCIA. If it is necessary to transfer files to the laptop, could someone please tell me the core files I'll need to get RH up and running. I've never installed Linux on a laptop, or over a network. I've only done it from CD, with very little modification, so this is all new to me. Thanks in advance.
As Always,
D

I've installed Linux over PCMCIA before, but never from a SMB mount muchless from a FAT partition. Not sure how well it'll work. I would give you better chance of doing it from a cd
