Can I increase my laptop speaker volume over max?

I have an HP zv5000 laptop with harmon/kardon speakers. Sometimes while watching DVDs or Windows Media files, the volume on the speakers is not loud enough, despite the volume in the software being maxed as well as the "wave" and master volumes in the volume control panel being maxed as well. Is there any way that I can increase the volume even more like with some software program? Thanks!

Hook it up to external speakers? :p

I don't believe there is much else that can be done about that.

Set it to 11. ;)

Edit... Ribbon has about the only thing you can do. External speakers/headphones. Also note that DVD audio is like theater audio, so the lows vs highs are much more dynamic over what TV does.
