Basically, I dont know much about hooking up my video card to the tv but here is what I am planning on doing, please tell me if it would work this way.

I have a Radeon 9800np that has an (what seems to be the same shape at least) S-Video hook up in the back.

I'm going to remove the S-Video Cable that I use to hook up my DVD player to my TV and put it in the back of my video card. Would this work?

Also, I have a widescreen projection TV with HDTV (dont have the receiver yet); I know that projection TVs are hurt if you connect gaming consoles to them (burning the image on the tube) - would this setup hurt my TV?

Also, do i need to change any settings on my video card in order for this to work.

And, I know this is a video forum but since many of you have video hooked up, can I use the same cable that I used for the DVD player audio to hook up my computer audio or would they not fit? I have a Soundblaster 5.1 sound card. What would be the best sound setup without having to drag my speakers to my tv location (i also have a cd player next to my tv)?

THANKS

Projection TVs hurt by game consoles? Who told you that? You'd get the same effect by viewing rather static programs (news or stock exchange channels or something).

Anyhow, if you have HDTV equipment, you might be interested in ATi's component output add-on, available from their online shop. That gives you proper HDTV from the DVI connector. The SVideo output gives you plain normal standard TV.

alright, and another thing, my screen is blurry after hooking up from s-video (i only tried on my non-projection tv so far). Like the words and icons are blurry. I tried to put it into different resolutions but it didn't help. How can I fix this problem from occuring?
Do i have to change the DPI?

Also, can I hook up to my TV that is HDTV capable (i bought it about 2 -3 years ago) but not ready (it doesn't have a receiver, but it is capable of HDTV) with a DVI Connection? If so, would I just need to hook it up in the back?

THANKS
