So, can I? I need a way to quickly transfer large LARGE files from my laptop to my PC. I have no wired LAN or external hard drives. My wireless does not like to have large files transfered through it continuously. It'd be nice if I could just plug a double male USB into both computers and share. Both computers are up to 2.0 spec, but my cables are 1.1.

not sure bout usb.

but you could get a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter so you could plug in your laptop harddrive into your pc and transfer like so. or get a 3.5 to 2.5 adapter to plug in a regular 3.5 hd to your laptop.

Thanks for the suggestion. Not bad. I think I'd be better off getting a usb 2 hard drive enclosure.. I am unfortunatley poor. :)

If both computers have firewire, that would be a way to go: faster than LAN. I use it all the time. 700MB goes by in ~3 minutes.

I don't know if USB will work either, but if it does, just dish out the $10 for the USB 2.0 drivers. Transferring with USB 1.1 will take days to transfer a gig...

Oh, and I'm not a USB fan since USB distributes its bandwidth between all USB devices and Firewire doesn't.

yes you can. What you need is a special usb cable. it's about $15. I have one from Bafo.
