Can I HIDE INFO from MicroSoft in WIN XP???

Folks...I have the Corporate Edition of Windows XP Professional.....Is there any way to prevent Microsoft from authenticating my personal info or any other data that I don't want them to know?......I'd really like to remain anonymous because I don't think anyone should have my information unless I give it to them

Is there a registry setting tweak or something I can disable?

Ha ha ha...yah right. I think theres a setting in control panel that turns off sending info to microsoft. but in the first place, even if the feature was on, doesnt it asks you first if you want to send any information?

Dont be so damn paranoid. They arent getting your personal information! All that is sent is the new Prod ID when you first send it. I really don't think they care who and what you are.

What do you mean "Corporate"? Do you mean Professional? If you mean you got the CD from a corporation, you could very well get them into trouble. Microsofts work around for hackers taking Corporate (MCSP) cd's is the fact that the Prod ID is actually embedded into the code. So even if you put another one, when you authenticate your cd, they know exactly who and where it came from.

He got the warez version where they disabled the activation and for some reason everyone started calling it the 'corporate' edition. The true MS Select edition is supposed to ship to program participants within the next 2 weeks and that is NOT the version that is running around. With the MS Select version, you are required to enter in the key that was issued solely to your company when you install it and activation is not required. With previous MS Select editions, no product key was required. With XP, you have a key assigned to your so MS can track which company leaked. (or so they think)
