yeah... i was thinking about it and technologically it shouldnt be too difficult, but it does bring a lot of other things to be considered. due to certain circumstances i will be needing to get a new phone, but i still like my current one and would want to use it sometimes. oh well.Originally posted by: imthebadguy
yes in theory you can, if you could register the ESN's of both phones to the same number with your local carrier, but NO US carriers allow this because then people would only pay for one line and use muliple phones. back in the mid 90's some guys found out a way of cloning phones to do just this using the old OKI cell phones, these days with the 3g sprint it can be done with extensive knowledge and expensive eeprom programmers, but then u still risk spint finding out, becasue these days everythis can be tracked on their servers.....
Your scenario is entirely possible. I do it myself. However, it is not possible with Sprint. You need a carrier who uses SIM cards. For example, I have TMobile with 2 phones, a Sony T610 and a Blackberry 7230. I use the Blackberry through the week, but on the weekends I want a smaller phone (plus I don't want it buzzing like crazy with every email), so I pop the SIM out of my Blackberry and pop it in my T610. Same phone number, account, etc. I even keep important numbers on a phonebook on the SIM just in case either phone looses it's phonebook. To TMobile, they just see the usage on my account (SIM), not a particular phone. Works great.Originally posted by: HardcoreRobot
