um i wouldn't think so, cuz if both rang and both picked up what would happen, would it be something to the effect of picking up the line at home when someone calls??? plus wouldn;t the sim cards have to be the same so they could receive the calls

I would think yes in theory, but only if the company allowed multiple phone registrations to be present for the same number... which is highly doubtful.

yes in theory you can, if you could register the ESN's of both phones to the same number with your local carrier, but NO US carriers allow this because then people would only pay for one line and use muliple phones. back in the mid 90's some guys found out a way of cloning phones to do just this using the old OKI cell phones, these days with the 3g sprint it can be done with extensive knowledge and expensive eeprom programmers, but then u still risk spint finding out, becasue these days everythis can be tracked on their servers.....

yeah... i was thinking about it and technologically it shouldnt be too difficult, but it does bring a lot of other things to be considered. due to certain circumstances i will be needing to get a new phone, but i still like my current one and would want to use it sometimes. oh well.

Your scenario is entirely possible. I do it myself. However, it is not possible with Sprint. You need a carrier who uses SIM cards. For example, I have TMobile with 2 phones, a Sony T610 and a Blackberry 7230. I use the Blackberry through the week, but on the weekends I want a smaller phone (plus I don't want it buzzing like crazy with every email), so I pop the SIM out of my Blackberry and pop it in my T610. Same phone number, account, etc. I even keep important numbers on a phonebook on the SIM just in case either phone looses it's phonebook. To TMobile, they just see the usage on my account (SIM), not a particular phone. Works great.

Yeah if you do the sim card thing, you may be able to copy your sim card (again not allowd by your US cell carriers TOS), but it also possible with the sprints if u can reflash your new phone with your current phone's ESN......

I used to hang out at the forums at http://www.cellphonehacks.com/ back in the day when people know what they were talking about, but now its just filled with idiot n00bs wanting free service.

yes i see how it would be very easy if the phones were sim card based. stupid sprint. i could switch, but then i wouldnt be able to use this phone i like so much anyways :) basically i will be working in no-camera-allowed areas, so id like to have a cheap phone i could take to work, and then use my other phone at home (its my only line). oh well, i guess people will just have to use my work phone.

But its still not concurrently active. That is impossible with any provider.
