Just kidding guys. What does Lifer mean anyway? And are we supposed to have X no of posts before we're given a title?

From google I ended up here,

Which looks pretty pointless IMO. Unless there are a LOT of music-junkies here at anandtech, I doubt if that's what you refer by Lifer.


Now regarding the FAQ, point 6 (in the FAQ) mentions that,

Information about the number of posts associated with member status can be found in the "Help" section

I've looked into the Help section and I can't find anything informative. In the pop-up window that appears when you click on help, I did a search for "posts" but among the results, there was no indication of how many posts translates to a custom title or the like.

And as for looking around, this looks like a good place to ask the question !! :roll:

Or if you want, I can open another thread for it ? ( I don't want to be seen hijacking another person's thread anyway )

You're right. The information is not in the FAQ and it was removed from the help section. About the only way to get it is to advanced search for terms like lifer and platinum. I believe the progression goes like this:

1-25 Junior Member
26 - Member
201 - Senior Member
1001 - Golden Member
2001 - Platinum Member
3001 - Diamond Member
10000 - Lifer

Custom titles are few and far between and only granted by the mods for exceptional cases.
