Can I go wrong getting this laptop ACER 5470

Office Depot has this starting Sunday

New Intel Core i3 processor
4 gigs ram 1066 stuff
250 gig harddrive
Windows 7 64
HDMI port
Wireless N

for 499 - so w/ tax around 540 ish. . .

I recently sold my old dog of a laptop (single core athlon) (lol - sold it local for 300 - only paid 379 for it) and my old Intel Core Duo 1.8 gigahertz desktop w/ 2 gigs of ram - xp.

Looking to replace both with one machine much more powerful. Would like it to last at least 3 years (so yea, I'm asking about acer experiences here) - 80% of time would be on my desk or on a laptop desk in my recliner. I use my netbook for roadwarrioring . . .

Would like to do video edits, encodes, and general purpose computing.

Yep, 500 is about my max budget - I'm pushing it w/tax on this one.

I'd go for it, i bought a similar spec'ed laptop but with the t4300 cpu for $400. Don't think you can get much cheaper than $500 for the core i3.

Supposedly next Sunday Staples will have an HP i3 with 4.25 battery life for $450 after $50 easy rebate. Otherwise, $500 i3 with blu-ray is the best deal in my opinion (the one best buy had this week but is all gone now).
