Can I get win2k to display file extensions?

I know microsoft likes to make windows more friendly, but it drives me crazy when I can't see the extensions on my files. Is there some kind of option that enables extension viewing?

yes there is. double click "my computer" then go to "tools" then "folder options" then "view" then scroll down and uncheck the box marked "hide file extensions for known types"
