Can I get Verizon cellphone from Amazon.com?

I currently have a family plan with Verizon wireless. I can get a new cellphone from Amazon.com if I also sign up for a new plan. Once I do receive my phone is it possible to include this phone to my family plan as an extra line?

I contacted amazon.com about this and they told me I wouldn't be able to get the phone and change plans later on. Someone tell me they're wrong. I just want free phone.

They're full of crap, I just ordered a treo 650 with "a plan" for the reduced rate and added it to my existing plan without an issue. You don't qualify for rebates beyond the amazon price, though.

You can add the plan onto the family plan.

I think you may have to keep the plan you sign up with for a couple of months tho, or Amazon will bill you.

I'm not sure, I'm with sprint. I would assume this would be the same regardless of carrier, however.

No, Verizon does NOT have Treo 650 yet.

Tmobile does this and I still qualify for amazon.com rebates. Verizon is the same but Amazon.com is vague whether I would qualify for their rebates if I transfer my phone to an existing family plan.

I'm not sure, I'm with sprint. I would assume this would be the same regardless of carrier, however.

No, Sprint has an exclusive for the treo 650 and verizon won't be getting it until this summer. Cingular GSM will have it shortly though.

You can add the phone to your existing family plan as long as you're not over the limit of lines. The problem that you MIGHT run into is that amazon might deny the rebate if you change the plan thus making the phone not free.
