Can I get this Newegg rebate?

So, I submitted an order to Newegg. The next day, my credit card was charged, and listed that day as the purchase date. That same day, a rebate promotion started. Now, I would be good, since Newegg lists my date of purchase as the day the promotion started, however my invoice lists the date the order was submitted, not the date it was processed. Would it be unethical to change the invoice date to match the purchase date? Should I just send it in as is and hope the rebate company checks for the actual purchase date, and not just the day the order was submitted?

Yes.. what are you worried about? If it doesn't work you've lost nothing.

Well, the problem isn't with newegg, it's with the rebate center of the company in question. They request the invoice as my proof of purchase date, and while Newegg says it was purchased on the correct day in my account, the invoice lists the day the order was submitted.

Rebate centers are evil, so putting them in the same thought as ethics is just an oxymoron.

Right, but if you call newegg they might be able to give you an adjusted invoice or something cool like that. As stated, they are VERY accommodating. (Especially if it means someone won't return/rebuy something ;) )
