I just finished installing it, she is at work and I have to go pick her up at 2:00 a.m. so she doesnt know yet.

Our old dishwasher has been broken for a looooooooong time and she complained about it a lot at first but we couldnt afford a new one, I finally decided to replace it with a very nice ($400.00) model, it is in place and all buttoned up and looks very nice.

My question is, is this a good Mothers day gift, would you be happy with this if your hubby did this for you?

I will get a link to the model in a minute.

If she really wanted a new dishwasher it's a very cool gift, I'm sure she'll be thrilled 🙂

Here is the model I got for her

Maytag Jetclean® Dishwasher

I am pretty sure she wants a new dishwasher, she really complained about it when it broke almost a year ago but after a few months she let it slide and hasnt said anything about it for a while.......

I'm not female, but I wanted to say something. A new dishwasher is something my mother would enjoy. She's kind of old fashioned. If she asks for a gift, it would be something like a new vacuum, or a dishwasher, or other things that supposedly would get men slapped nowadays if they bought it for their girlfriend/wife.

Just wanted to add my opinion.

It is from both my son and me (he helped by leaving me alone while working, and cleaning up when I was done 😀)

i thought the children were supposed to give the mothersday gifts to their mothers

oh wait, you married your mom?

I'm not a woman, but I really don't think that ANYONE could rightfully be angry about getting a new dishwasher as a gift. It's one of the most practical things around the house IMO. And practical gifts are by far the best IMO. Sure, something "nice" every once in a while is great and shows you care, but something that gets used everyday and saves time to boot shows you care even more.

Unless she's some liberal who takes it as an insult because it implies that her place is in the kitchen

OMG !!!! hahahaha, that is sooo true, wonder if Skoorb's got something he needs to
share with us all? howling with laughter here 😀

You better get her something else while there is still time. That's about as good as a belt sander...

Flowers, jewelry, massage, etc.

fatbaby, its in the handbook, when you are married and your wife has born a child the husband damn well better do something for her on mothers day 😀

My ex-husband ALWAYS got me stuff for mother's day when the kids were really small and still does now even though we're divorced. I in turn always make sure he gets something cool for Father's day.

yeah we love getting gifts that benefit the whole family.

i dont know your wife though but i know my mum and she would be appreciative cuz its alotta money for a dishwasher but she would have prefered a buncha flowers as the gift and then the dishwasher as a purchase just for the house.

*kat. <-- sorry to crap on your thread.

That was a great, practical gift. Now go and get some flowers or a card or something. Women tend to frown on "practical" gifts.

/me remembers the Christmas Blender.........
