before I go ahead and buy this, I have some questions if you don't mind.

Here's the card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-500-_-Product

1. How reliable are MSI products?

2. Do you think this card is a good bang for the buck?

3. This card seems geared towards overclockers, so I'm guessing I would easily be able to overclock this card to near 5870 levels without having to flash the BIOS, right?

4. Um...Any reason at all you can think of for not buying this? lol.

Thank you.

1. MSI makes good products and good overclocking tools

2. 5850 is the best bang for the buck. You pay a little extra for the better cooling and such on that card so not quite as buck bangy as the XFX for $290, but probably better OC results.

3. I'd think so

4. No it would be badass, 5850 and 5770 are the cards to get for bang for buck right now.

btw you can edit your post to update the pic :)

I don't know enough about the card to discuss it, but I can tell you that I've had truly excellent tech support from MSI. I had an issue with a motherboard where I couldn't answer all the questions on their online support form, and they gave me great support on the phone without any hassle when I explained the situation.

Friends also report good assistance for their products. You can't ask more from them than a good batting average for quality and than being there to help when you need them.

I have a Hawk (similar cooler 5770) and it's great. Even at 1030 core and 1.35v with fan at 70% it will barely touch 70-71c.

The only thing you might want to research is whether or not you still have the same overclocking limits as regular 5850s. It's frustrating if you can up the voltage to 1.35 but you sre still limited by the bios as far as o/c (though all MSI cards might be unlocked im not sure).

That is a nice looking card, liking the chrome heatsink, and MSI is top notch like Asus. Cheers!

From what I recall MSI Afterburner unlocks 'em all, but I'm not sure at all.. just filling post until someone more informed updates us :)

I had several MSI products (mobos and graphics card) in the past and never had any troubles with the products. AFAIK, they make great quality hardware.

And the Hawk version is great!
