Can I get some assistance on installation issues with BF1942!

I tried everything on EA's support page and nothing has worked. The installation support file can not be found. It attemps to install the install wizard and craps out. I have current drivers and still no success. Please HELP!

Your Installer likely needs to be updated. I can't remember what the file is called, but if you go to Microsoft's webpage and look for Win98 updates you should be able to find it.

no problems with other games except for FPS since it is a 500 celeron with 256 RAM. Getting ready to build a P4 3.06 so I was tying to get back in the swing of things. The last game I installed and played was Morrowind but it was choppy. I have been getting by with XBOX and XBL playing Unreal Championship, Splinter cell, and Ghost Recon online.

What video card, if it's not a Geforce(x), Parhelia, or Radeon, that could be the problem. Either way, you may want to wait until your new system is assembled, I doubt the game would be very playable at 500mhz(although the sys req's say it would).

Oh the card is a TNT 2 kinda old but haven't had any problems with it.

That would likely be the problem, the TNT2 doesn't have Hardware Transform and Lighting, a requirement for the game.

You'd think it would, but it's possible that it does a hardware compatibility test first, dunno for sure though.

Thanks for all of your prompt assistance. I guess I will just have to be contempt with Ghost Recon on XBOX Live. I should have my new Rig at the end of the month besides Im so busy in school I barely have time to really enjoy a fragfest.

I believe Sandorski is correct.
Besides, you would not want to play BF on a cel 500 with TNT2 anyway. Even if it would run, you'd get like 2 fps. People with older Geforce's get like 10- 15 fps on the lowest settings.
Make sure you get a good video card for your new system and BF will be nice and pretty.
