There's another way to get Master Card.
Well, it's not not a credit card like Master Card, it's Debit.
Anyway. If you have an account at PayPal, you can request a PayPal Master Card from them.
In order to use the card, your account must have enough fund.
I used the card and liked it because it gives you 1.5% cash rebate on every purchase.

As far as I know. There's no fee if you fund your account with your bank account.
But you have to remember that you must fund your account BEFORE use the card.
Just wait until you're 18 in October. Debit cards do not offer you the type of protection a credit card gives you on purchases. Also you are only liable for up to $50 if someone steals your credit card, on the other hand you are screwed with a debit card. I recommend getting the american blue for students or the citibank visa for students. They both will accept you easily (Blue gave me a $2500 limit and I'm currently unemployed and a full time student in college).
When you use the Debit card, use it locally. Not online.
And I believe when you use it as "Master Card", you're under the protection of whatever the regular Master Card came with.
When you use the card at the store, make sure tell them IT IS CREDIT CARD.
