Can I get 70w to run my laptop on Airplane?

I have a Asus A8js laptop which came with a 90w AC Adapter. I am flying soon and on Lufthansa, they only output 70w.

Will I get into a problem if I plug in the 90w into the 70w? Will it work? I do not care if the DVD doesn't work....I just want to be able to work.

I am not very knowledgeable about power supplies and so on. On the bottom of the laptop it says:

Input: +19V - 4.74A 90W

Not sure what that means either.

Thanx

Well the power brick will lose some power when converting the voltage, so it will be even less than 70W. I'd think it can handle more than that though, unless they have a circuit breaker on each outlet to trip out at 70W exactly..

I think in this day and age airplanes probably limit the current flow. There probably is a breaker, but you are limited to the voltage you need. You'll get some current, but not as much as you may need-I'd run things in a power setting so you actually are charging your laptop instead of just feeding it until it finally drains

Ok...just got back from my month long holiday. I flew on Lufthansa(terrible airline). They do not have power plugs in economy class. However, I was able to butter up an air hostess and she got my laptop charged in business class.

Travelling with laptops is perfect. I had burned some movies on the HD and just saw those....awesome.

Just an FYI for others flying.

You'll be fine. The worst that'll happen is that your battery will charge more slowly than if you had it plugged into a wall outlet.
