I already got a Citi divedand card, with 0% interest on balance transfers till like september of 05. But they only extended me a 1000.00 credit limit. Unfortunately my debt is a bit more then that, thst why i am interested in the 0% interest. Well they now keep sending me pre apporved papers for thier platinum select card, also offer the 0% interest until september. I know it says I am pre approved, but why would they allow me to get another card with them, rather then just give me a big credit limit on the one card?

Good question, but I'd say yes. I'm sure they'd love to get you in as much debt as possible. Try and see what the limit will be on the new one and it might be enough to transfer it all to that one and cancel the other.

I'm in the process of turning 3 cards into 1, will much less of a pain in the butt dealing with.

Yes but usually they have to be different products.

Although I had a CitiBank VISA for years, they sent me a pre-approval for a CitiBank MasterCard.

I only accepted because it was a Dividends Platinum Select and offered 0% for 12 months. On month 11 I paid it down to zero.

Oh I doubt they will give me that much more, I just got this other card less then a month ago. Plus I would prefer to keep the divedand card, because it offers better benefits.

Well the one I have now is a dividends Mastercard, the other they are offering me is a platinum select master card. I think I will apply and just see what happens.

Yes.
I have 2 Capital One cards.

But if you just recently got a card from them, it is possible that the pre-approvals were sent based on older information from before you got the card.

About a month after I got my 2nd Capital One card, I got a pre-approval from them for another card, sent it in, and had the request denied. The denial letter said that they did not run a credit report and that it was denied because their records showed I had already opened a new account with them.

Paying it all on month 11 doesn't affect your credit score at all, does it?
