A friend at work had his bank account info stolen, and the bank provided the IP address of the persons that logged in.

Is there a away to find the provider, like Cox Cable by the 1st few sets of number?
71.97.39....
10.6.51...
216.253.176...

Can anyone help?

www.arin.net - plug it into the field box at the top, hit search and you're set.

btw, I am very concerned that the bank gave out the IP address information ... they aren't supposed to do that as it is definitely compromising privacy, and only the Police are supposed to be able to demand such information (stops vigilante justice and all).

google....use the arin database for registered IP's. Problem is many small ISP's subleas a sublease of a lease. Not to mention, you will probably find the box that the IP belongs too was just a hacked unpatched box.
