Here's my question. I want to dual boot Win XP Home Edition, and Mandrake 8.1. I have 2 40gb IDE drives, one pri. master the other pri. slave. Can I set up one drive with Windows and the other with Linux and be able to use either the Windows boot loader or LILO to boot off either drive ?

windows boot loader will not do it, lilo won't either (the 1024 cylinder thingy), suggest getting a boot manager. Alot of linux distro's come with them. Something to check into. :)

Thats the thing, If I install them on different drives they will both be within the 1024 limit, but can LILO boot to a different drive than what it is installed on I guess is my question.

One last question. Does Windows XP Home Edition have a boot loader like Windows 2000 Pro?
