can i double the speed using both NICs on the asus a7n8x deluxe?

if i'm not mistaken, both NICs are assigned their own IPs because of unique MAC addresses. is there anyway to make it so that both connections are used simultaneously to make my connection perform better than using the single ethernet cable alone. and i'm not doing this so that i have a network hub split the cable then connect that to the NICs, but rather through two independent lines on the network but from the same ISP using T1 connections.
