Can I do Bluetooth Headpiece MIC for gaming?

i asked this question today at CompUSA, poor guy i asked had no idea.

This is what I wanna do. I wanna have Microphone use for online gaming like Counterstrike: Source. I dont wanna wear a full set of headphones with a mic, I dont wanna wear a single ear over the head halo with a mic. I wanna do a small around the ear Mic piece, or something similar, and want it cordless. .

Now, can I use a bloetooth mic setup for online gaming? or is the comp/game software only going to recongnize something plugged into the mic jack. Are there even computer (NOT MOIBLE PHONE) compatable over the ear mic piece on the market????? is there anything similar that may not be bluetooth?

Anyone have any input, or know of any products I might like let me know.

Thanks again.

I was actually thinking about looking into this myself and have done a very little bit of research.

As far as the software goes it will recognise whatever sound device you have setup, whether its plugged in via the jack or USB. I don't see why you couldn't get a Bluetooth headset and have a Bluetooth USB receiver, there's plenty available, and then have this setup in windows as your sound device for voice recording and playback.

I have yet to try this as I have yet to invest in the necessary hardware but I don't see why it wouldn't work. The hardware exists and is definitely available. For example you could get something like this.

I don't have an actual success story for you but; according to spec, any recent computer with bluetooth should be compatible with a bluetooth headset, and present it as a perfectly ordinary sound device. You ough to be fine.
