While I was in the States a year ago, my grandmother set up a joint account between her and me.
I am just wondering can I deposite my money into the account from the bank in Canada?

is that a US currency account? and you want to deposit cdn money? yeah, i'm sure you can do it, but it won't be cheap. there will probably be a fee for every deposit / withdrawl ( maybe even 2 fees -- one for the deposit/withdrawl and one for the currency conversion).

No.
Federal banking laws prohibit in-branch deposits across state lines, so you couldn't walk into your local BofA there in Canada and make the deposit into that accout out-of-state (country) account.
You need to contact the branch where you account is based and either:
- mail (fedex, whatever) your deposit(s) to them
- wire your deposit(s)

Withdrawals, however, are an entirely different story. There are no restrictions.
