Write a distributed web server/other application? I'm not really sure what features those have.

Easiest, quickest, cleanest is to donate them to a local charity and take the massively marked-up (or in this case, non-marked-down) and unreal valuation as a tax write-off -- although I believe the IRS has started to crack down a bit on the larger abuses of this.

You can eBay it I'm sure.

My brother got a box of crap from some people and decided to experiment just to see what he could sell, even if it was a nearly no profit.

He sold a picture frame that was wrapped in leather and shaped like a cat.

If he could sell that then I'm sure you can sell those items.
