Upon reverting back to Windows 7 from 10, I would like to know if I can delete the System32 files as well as the WOW64 files associated with the Gwx.exe. These are all listed under the program files (x86.

Below are some images.

Also, how can I clean the registry of these unneeded files? Do any these files pose an issue, or should I just leave them? I did disable Gwx.exe from the task manager, and hid the Windows 10 icon from notifications. All information is appreciated.

* I uninstalled Update KB3035583 and there seems to be no issues. All traces of the Gwx.exe folders and files are gone. The task manager no longer has that entry, and it has been removed completely from icons and notifications. What I did notice that I do not receive any adware any longer. I know this from going to the same links to verify.

Any input from anyone regarding the aforesaid is very much appreciated.

I never installed KB3035583. I did delete the GWX folder. But it came back.

But I never got an upgrade to W10 notification. So I'll leave it be.

Sorry I did not get back to you earlier. I performed a system recovery. There may have been issues associated with KB3035583. The reliability sector was not working after uninstalling KB3035538, along with KB2952664. Upon performing a clean install, I did not install KB3035583 and KB2952664. Both of these updates are associated with Windows 10. Apparently, there are some factors of security or otherwise intertwined in the aforesaid updates which have a significant bearing on the operating system.

To those who uninstalled these updates, they are looking at the same issues. If they care not about the reliability sector that's fine.

I believe the GWX folder was only associated with KB3035538 or KB2952664. The latter coming first in the updates to prepare the way for Windows 10. Not knowing this prior, I cannot tell which update contained the GWX folder. In the
(X86 FILES UNDER SYSTEM 32 or The SystemWOW64, "The GWX folder is no longer present.

You must have installed one or both of the above updates or you would not have a GWX folder.
