Technically DVDs can hold any filesystem, with ISO9660 and UDF being the most common.

Image burn will probably work, but it is a two step process. First copy the disk to an ISO file on your hard drive. Burn the ISO with Image Burn.

Image Burn is free.

It could be because all the contents are .DMGs, which last I checked, Windows definitely cannot read without help.

But if that were the case you'd at least see the DMG files on the disc. You just can't read them because Windows has no built-in ability for mounting images out of the box. According to Wikipedia there's no real format for DMGs, they're just raw filesystem images unless you opt to encrypt or compress them. So if Windows could mount images it should work fine as long as the DMG contained a FAT or NTFS image.

Yea, you know, it might, I forgot all about that. Your best bet to make a backup is to use a mac if you have any available.

Oh... or use MacDrive. Install that and it can read Mac disks.
