Can i control a number of fans with one rheostat?

I have an exhaust fan controlled by one and want to connect cpu fan as well (to be simultaneously controlled ).

Can i do that? And if so which wire do i separate? (both fans are the same) And should i use the same two (out of three) connectors, which are already in use?

Thanks in advance.

I've run two fans off one before. I just used a splitter though. They are cheap and can be bought at places like frys. It will cut the speed down drasticly more than just using it on one though. Sometimes it can give it very little adjustment power and run super slow. If you have to splice.... red wires to red wire and black wires to black wire.

Thanks.
I?ll mod exhaust to 7v and connect cpu one to the rheostat along.
Which wire do i separate then? I have to use mobo?s 3pin connector ? it would not boot without a fan present.
