Can I connect two linksys WAP 11's with a crossover cable to make a wireless repeater? Will the firmware allow one acess point to be an access point client, and then the other access point to be a regular access point?

My other option would be to use a computer running ICS in between the two WAP's, but this requries an additional computer. Can I just use a crossover cable?

Im not sure why you would need 2 wireless access point type things. Set one up as a bridge and it should increase your range by itself. Of course I may be missing something. 🙂

I agree with n0c, you should be able to do it with one. Of course I've never used one so they may not give you the option to bridge. if not maybe a small old floppy only linux box should work, but again, you should still only need the one access point. U should be able to do it with something easy to configure like freesco.
