I recently just purchased a Netgear wireless router, to my surprise, it also has 4 ports which I didn't know before. Now if my computer has a reg. LAN card and wireless card, can I connect both to my router @ the same time to increase transfer rate?

Thanks.

I have 2 computers, both PCs have wireless and reg. LAN cards installed, so just curious if I can speed up the transfer between the 2 PCs via router using this method.

But the Ports on the switch part of the Router are 100Mb/sec. ports. ;)

....AND, you will have created a layer two loop, which is likely to cause a broadcast storm.

Any time you have parallel routes between the same locations without something like Spanning Tree enabled (or a router in the way), you have a loop, you'll have broadcast storms, and you won't get any traffic through at all during the storms ... which are pretty much perpetual once they get going (until the switch(s) die).

Good Luck

Yeah. If you can connect via wired instead of wireless, then just do that, if you want more performance. Connecting both ways is useless, plus, you have the wireless security issues to worry about.
