Can I connect my TV to my sound card so the TV uses the pc speakers instead of the TV speakers?

I have a Sound Blaster X-Gamer sound card and and I would like to be able to hook my TV,s audio out to my sound card so the TV sound plays through the computer speakers. Does anyone know if this is possible to do? I have the adapter to change from the audio out plug on the back of my vcr to the line in on my sound card.

You have to have an RCA to stereo cable (one end is a standard stereo jack and the other has one red and one black connector that would hook up to a tv/vcr) plug the red/black end into the vcr and the stereo into the line out of the sound card and make sure you select line in in windows and you're set.

The adapter cable I have has one yellow RCA plug on one end and and stereo plug on the other end. I have plugged the yellow RCA plug into my vcr and I have plugged the stereo plug into the line in on my sound card and still cannot get the sound to play on my pc speakers from the TV.

if u have the plug connected to your vcr plugged into red or white then you are set. Make sure your VCR is on and you are changing the channels from the vcr and not the tv

first establish if you TV and or VCR is stereo or not.... if it is stereo you need a dual RCA stereo(red and white) to mini stereo(1/8th inch) connector... then run it from the source(TV/VCR) to the line in on the sound card... at that point make sure the line in is turned up in the volume controls:) and you should be golden

if you TV/VCR is not stereo, then you need a single RCA mono(just white) to mini mono(1/8th inch) connector... then follow insructions from the top:)

The line-in on sound cards is normaly muted by default, so it would be a good idea to check and unmute it if you haven't already.
