Can I connect ATA133 to the ATA100 port?

Hi,
I consider buying the Maxtor 80G ATA133 hard drive since it's so cheap now.
My main board is Abit VP6 that only support ATA100.
I heard the ATA133 uses the EIDE 40pin port.
Does anybody know whether the Maxtor ATA133 works on the old ATA100 main board?

Thanks.

ATA 133 is backwards compatible and will run at ATA 100 speeds, not that you will notice any difference.

Yup 100%

Consider buying yourself an ATA100 drive though and save a few bucks, you will NOT notice any difference.

Most people don't realize that even WD's new Raptor drive can't burst more than 66 MB/s... so even ATA66 would work fine.
