Can I connect 2 joysticks? 1 on the sound card, one USB?

Running win 2000 pro
I can't seem to be able to install one joystick on the sound card, and on on the USB port (gameport - USB adapter). when i click ADD, it says that there is already a joystick installed on that port, and I don't see where you can change the port?
Is this just not possible?

Can you move the existing joystick to a different ID and try adding another? Thats what I do in winXXX.
 
No, I don't seem to be able to do that. There is alittle pull down menu that has some options about ports on it, but none of them say USB port.
