I have a socket 939 asus board with sempron 3400+

I have 256 mb of pc3200 infineon in one slot. this board is dual channel.

I have 1 256 stick of ddr pc2100 from crucial and 1 stick of 512 ddr pc2100 from crucial.

will I mess up this system if I combine all this memory to get 1 gig?

it is a compaq computer that I bought for 150 dollars after rebate so I couldnt pass on that deal

It *should* just work, unless you have manually changed the memory settings. Normally it will default to the speed of the slowest RAM that is detected.

You can combine them, but with 3 sticks, unless you have one of the Athlon XP motherboards that suports dual channel with 3 sticks, it won't run in dual channel.
