the cel 500 runs at 7.5x66,I think. So if your motherboard supports 100mhz,like say the abit bh6,bx6,ect.,then you would set the front side bus to 100.Then you would be at 750.I run 2 633 cels at 950 with standard cooling,no problem. The mother boards are both abit bh6.

Bad news but your celeron 500 is of the old PPGA class. The new 533A and up (and the 633 squirrel dog talk of) are FC-PGA. The FC-PGA are made on a .18 fab process which allows for the overclocking you see from these chips. (PPGA is .25 process) They basically shrunk the way they manufacture CPUs. they are now able to reach higher speeds because they can produced it on a smaller level thus reducing heat.

ok, your celeron 500 may reach 7.5 x 75 @ 562mhz or possibly 7.5 x 83 @ 622mhz but that is probably the limit for the chip.

For further help you must provide more information about your system.

You will have a bunch of difficulties trying to overclock your CeleronI. Most of the Celerons maxed out @550-600. And since you have a relatively high multiplier, it means you'll have to use an "akward" bus speed, meaning that your pci and agp buses might become a little flaky.
