I have a Dell Latitude 3379.

This article says I can then qualifies it:
.

'You should have no problem using USB C to safely charge your Dell computer or laptop if you have a USB C charger and a USB C port on the computer.
The only issue that could arise is an issue of the charger not working because your computer doesn’t support USB C charging."

WTF double talk!

Hotels I usually stay in have usb ports on their power outlets.
So much more convenient if i can use that to charge vs my power brick.

So does my laptop do usb-c charging?

It shouldn't flow the wrong direction. But, usual disclaimers apply.

Edit: But, if I wanted to know, and it was my laptop, I'd try it. Personally, I doubt it'll work. I've yet to see a "dual" charging laptop.

Probably not. Not mentioned in its port spec.

Standard USB port can only charge low power devices, it's not going to charge your laptop even if you have a USB-C chargeable laptop

Ahh.. I still need the power brick if I'm charging thru usb-c on my 3379. :(
Thx!

I assume the laptop will take the little bit of charge from USB wall outlet to prolong battery life?

Seems I recall a few laptop model feature lists that had one of those bullet or asterisk denoting 'with available or optional adapter', can't remember which ones.
