Can I change the boot sequence on 98 / 2000 dual?

I'm up and running '98 SE on my latest creation. I've got 2k on CD, and know how to dual boot install it. However, for a change, I'd like to force it to default to '98 if I don't hit any key on startup. Essentially just swapping the two there.

It's got to be written somewhere, any ideas how to change it? (I did do a search first, couldn't find anything here)

Yeah, really easy. Just install 2k after 98 is installed and boot into 2k. Then log on as Administrator and click Start.. Settings.. Control Panel.. System.. then the Advanced tab.. then Startup and Recovery. You'll see the boot up options right there, you can change default OS and time.

If you use the Win2K boot loader, you just go into system properties --> advanced tab --> startup and recovery button and select the default OS. Although I couldn't imagine why you would want 98 by default, yuck...

My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Startup and Recovery.

Or you can manually edit the boot.ini file on the root of your startup partition.

Thanks! I'll do that this morning.

I know, I hear that 2000 is almost always better, but just in case I don't agree, I didn't want to have to arrow out of it every time for the rest of my life. I'll install it this morning, do what you said, and if I like it better afterall I'll reverse the order back to 2000 first.

Thanks again.
