Can I change my page file size?

I just installed WinXP Pro on a new build on my 8rda3+, with barton 2500+, and 1gig of Corsair PC3200 ram.
My page file is 1.5gigs right now (1.5 x amount of ram). Does it have to be so large, or can I make it smaller?
Should I make a partition just for the swap file?

to get to it rt click "my computer" go to "properties" advanced tab - performance settings - advanced.
as far as settings , you'll probably get ALOT of opinions.
good luck

I guess my question is, "should I change my page file size?".
I didn't think I would need to have one so large as 1.5gigs.
Is it safe to change, or should I just let Windoze handle it?
