Can I change fans?

I've had a Kingwin KT-424-BK-WM mid tower for over a year - and while I like the case, I'd love to silence it to an good extent.

It somehow seems to have got noisier over time. It comes with 3 80mm fans that are riveted to the case, 2 in a side by side configuration in the front and one at the rear.

While I dont believe breaking off the plastic rivets to detach the fans from the case should be too difficult, I'm wondering if I can replace the 3 noisy buggers with 2 120mm Panaflo type fans - anyone done this and/or have any recommendations?

I'm sure the Kingwin 350W PSU is another major noise making factor with its 2 smallish fans - I figure I'll get around to the PSU once I'm done with the case fans.

TIA

same case I have, same idea I have, I'm just too lazy to do it 🙂 if I get off my ass and do it (maybe this week) I'll post back and let you know. I think Kingwin should have used a fckin 120 fan in the front, OH now there's a mod job that might be worth attempting.

2 other options

Get a fan controller that fits in an empty bay and you can control the fans with the cover on

Get a FanMate and set it to the speed you want, goes inside case
