Can I Cascade a Switch off my Router?

I have the classic Linksys Wireless G Router with a 4-port 10/100 switch and I've run out of wired ports. Can I purchase a 10/100 switch and run it off one of the routers 10/100 ports? Much like a USB Hub?

If not what options do I have?

Tried a search, didn't see this question.

Thanks

just few? wouldn't that be all switches or am I missing the meaning of cascade? If you want to get more ports from a router you just hook the switch to a router port and presto you have more ports.. if you ever have connection problems with your internet or change your DHCP (Ip addresses) you might need to restart the switch too... since your network is now slightly more complicated.

Internet Connection-->Router-->Switch

What you want to set up is exactly how most networks are (or should) be set up. Do it.

Thanks all. :beer: :beer:

I looked at the Egg, 8-port 10/100 switches are $10-15, no-brainer!!! Looked at Gigabit switches, but 3X$ and don't have a single Gibabit PC or NAS. By the time I do, Gigabit will be cheap.

Thanks
